Vintage Japanese Black Lacquer Abalone Inlay Mt. Fuji Scenic Music Jewelry Box

From an estate, a beautifully hand painted Black Lacquer Abalone Inlaid Music Box from Japan.  Depicting a village, Mt. Fuji can be seen in the distance.  The closed Music Box measures 8.25" x 5-7/8" and it is 4-1/8" tall.  The Music Box mechanism works well; I do not recognize the tune.  When opened, there are two painted inner covers with orange tassels that open to reveal one compartment.  The escutcheon at the key hole features Mt. Fuji too (sorry, I do not have a key for this).  I found it rather odd that some of the inlaid abalone almost appears to be lacquered over.  I have not attempted to see if abalone lies beneath some of these abalone outlines.  There are a few light scratches and a chip of lacquer missing at one of the corners, but this is a solid piece for its vintage.  Please see all photos and the other Japanese items from the same estate that I have listed.
