Helper Instruments SM-1000/SM1000 100 kHz-1000 MHz RF Service Monitor 1 GHz.
Unit includes the following features:
Antenna input for off the air measurments
Displays transmitter power, frequency error, and deviation/modulation
Generates signal for receiver testing with 1000 hz fixed tone and variable digital tone (CTCSS for example)
50 memories that store tx and rx frequency and generator CTCSS
Will decode and display transmitter CTCSS freqency
Checked out in working condition. FM generator output and deviation and receiver input frequency and deviation respond properly. I don't know when the unit was last calibrated, but it compares favorably with a recently calibrated IFR 1200S service monitor.
Includes a.c. power cord.
Included cigarette light plug, hardwired at the back of the unit for 12v portable operation. These units came with a two-pin molex plug on the back for 12v input. A molex plug could easily be reinstalled.
The battery, if there is one inside, is dead. I haven't looked inside.
The handle is broken off of the toggle switch that switches the internal battery charger between slow and fast charge
Includes normal wear, scuffs, etc. on the case as one would expect for a portable instrument.
Except for the broken toggle switch mention above, all else seems to work. I am about five miles from a local 2 meter repeater and am able to monitor it through the instrument RF IN port. I can measure the repeater's frequency, hear the audio, and measure its deviation. Signal generator works also. The unit should be a very capable instrument with a new alignment.73,Paul, WI5F
